Today, cops at Occupy Wall Street were “assaulted” by someone who threw liquid at them, and were promptly taken to the hospital. On Saturday, there was a protest against the ASPCA to mark the two year anniversary of the death of Oreo, the dog that was thrown off of a Brooklyn rooftop and later murdered by the ASPCA despite the fact that several rescue organizations were willing to adopt him. At the ASPCA protest, someone threw a large quantity of scalding hot water on the protesters. When police arrived, they said that throwing boiling water at people on the street was not against the law and that getting hit with the hot water did not constitute assault.
